Description
The book aims at exploring agricultural waste as low cost adsorbent for the removal of Cr (VI) from industrial wastewater. Walnut shell and almond shell were converted to activated carbon by pyrolysis process. The optimum temperature of activated carbon is about 800 0C for both the materials. Column adsorption studies were carried out for the removal of Cr (VI) and breakthrough curve data were obtained. Thomas model was applied to the data to find the most effective adsorbent of the two. A relation between height of column and particle size was obtained for different flow rates as a facilitate in design of adsorption column. This book contains matter related to basic knowledge of the process, standard procedures and research work also.
